The Wizard of Oz
29 June 2010
Year 3 and 4 performed 'The Wizard of Oz' to their parents in the Performing Arts Centre on Tuesday 22nd and Wednesday 23rd June. The children thoroughly enjoyed putting on this play and it was wonderful to see such great acting talent.
There were some wonderful performances from all the children but special mention must go the lead characters: Dorothy (Francesca Kennedy) remained beautifully calm throughout; the Scarecrow (Emily Clark) who appeared not to have a brain, but did; the Lion (Blake Hannaby-Cummins) was most cowardly; the Tin Man (Luca Frost) was rusty with a big heart and Toto (Hugo Bardsley) with his amusing wit. The Wicked Witch (Kathryn Neary) had the most evil cackle, while the Good Witch (Annabella Brimelow) was generous and kind. Jack Lea-Jones was excellent as the Narrator and looked every inch the old man. Well done to all the children who were involved. The costumes were amazing, as was the scenery and the Yellow Brick Road - a big thank you to the Mums who helped with all of this.
