Alderley Edge Festival - Speech and Drama
20 May 2010
No fewer than 55 Terra Nova pupils volunteered to take part in the Speech and Drama classes at the Festival this year, and Saturday was their big day.
They included experienced performers and first-timers, confident and shy, but all keen to have a go, and we were enormously proud of their achievements – those who went wrong put themselves right, those who were nervous simply didn’t show it, and many of those who peaked at the right moment were rewarded with certificates. Standards were extremely high in all the classes, especially at the top end, and special congratulations therefore go to the following:
Grace Oakley (3rd - Year 2 set poem)
Amelia Gachet (3rd - Year 3 own choice poem)
Rafe Baker Wilbraham (2nd - Year 5 ‘school’ theme)
Ella Walsh (3rd - Year 5 own choice poem)
Lydia Tunstall (1st - Year 4, 5 & 6 duologue, performed at evening Finale; 2nd - Year 6 set poem; 3rd - Year 6 solo drama)
Izzie Bulley (3rd – Year 6 own choice poem)
Mary Kate Rylands (2nd – Year 6 own choice poem)
Abigail Lawton (3rd – Year 7 & 8 own choice poem)
Dana Bond (3rd – Year 7 & 8 solo drama)
